A flamingo was today
spotted at Salina where it is under constant observation by BirdLife
Malta. This beautiful bird displays the unmistakable pink plumage and is also
ringed, withBirdLife Malta currently tracing the bird's origin.
Flamingos are scarce and irregular in Malta, so this is a particularly exciting
sighting. Notwithstanding this, in previous occasions there were
occasional sightings of flamingos in this same site, salt pans being their natural
habitat.
