As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Call for records of Donegal's rare breeding birds

15:19 Thursday 19th of April 2018

With the nesting season now well and truly underway, the Irish Rare Breeding Birds Panel is looking for help with surveys of rare breeding birds species across Donegal.

It has developed a section on its website that that it is hope will encourage more submissions this year, allowing users to view maps illustrating the priority species that might be present in each county.

The species profiles section of the website also provides useful tips on how best to go about surveying for each species, including links to songs and calls.
