Ornithologists
discovered in the Ecuadorian highlands, a new species of Hummingbird.
The
discoverer was a member of the Ecuadorian National biodiversity Institute, the
ornithologist Francisco Sornoza Molina. For the first time he noticed the
unusual birds in the South-Western part of the Andes in the beginning of last
year. Scientists have named a new species of birds Oreotrochilus cyanolaemus, which means “sinegora mountain star”.
A new
species attributed to the genus of Hummingbird-the mountain of stars who have
chosen habitat for the Andean highlands with a harsh climate. The genus
consists of five species of birds that have adapted to the conditions and
changed their eating habits.
Scientists
have found that new species of birds at the height of 5 thousand meters, and

detected due to the small population and small habitat. Currently, birds are on
the verge of extinction.
