As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Kind-hearted man saves crow caught in a fence - and the bird comes back to thank him

A man who saved a crow from being stuck in a fence is now visited by flocks of the bird's mates.

The kind-hearted passer-by came to the rescue when he found the crow with its head stuck between two planks of wood.

After easing the bird out, he nursed it back to health and fed it, documenting the whole thing using his camera phone.

Once the bird had recovered, the moment came for the friends to part ways and the crow flew off into the sky.

But the story doesn't end there.

Russell, as the crow was named by his human friend, returned to say thanks and brought with him a crew of crows.

They look like rooks in the last photo
