As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Lady wearing caged bird on head baffles the world

No one ever says, "Only in Venice Beach", but they may now, MSN News reports.

A woman who reportedly turned up at a California Starbucks with a live bird on her head, complete with a perch and decorative cage - has the online world asking one simple question,"Why?". Unfortunately, it is a question with no clear answers. Maybe she was making a statement about the cruelty of caged fowls. Maybe she was competing with that weird woman who makes Cabbage Patch hats. Maybe, at the end of the day, she's just plain bonkers. No one knows. daily times monitor
