As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Camouflaged bird sparks owl hunt at Chatsworth

Popular Peak District photographer Villager Jim has captured the owl’s art of camouflage in this fantastic picture.Famous Derbyshire photographer, dubbed
As masters of disguise, the owl can only just be spotted waiting for their prey in the early hours at Chatsworth but they could not escape Villager Jim. The creatures used a wall, a tree and a barn doorway as cover.

Villager Jim said the owls are getting used to him now so they don’t fly away.
