A MAN has been arrested in connection with wildlife crimes in the North-east.
He was reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the attempted trapping of birds of prey.
The man was arrested as a result of a joint operation between Police Scotland and the RSPB in the Deeside area.
Superintendent George Macdonald said: “Throughout Aberdeenshire and Moray, we have a number of highly trained and skilled officers who have a detailed understanding of wildlife crime and appropriate investigation skills.
“Along with partner agencies, we are keen to take action when such crimes occur.”

As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.
