There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Cockerel walks like a human


Local citizens in the Chinese city of Jinhua were amazed on Monday to find a cockerel walking around bolt upright like a human.
The owner of the unusual bird, Zong Jianping, said he bought it from a farmer in a village in Anhui Province for 10,000 yuan (£1,000) during a business trip last month.
According to local news reports, Jianping has now sent the three-year-old bird to a zoo as he had no experience of keeping poultry and wanted more people to see this strange creature.
