An elite dining club in Hefei, Anhui province, is allegedly serving peacock and wild goose, both protected by the state, to government officials, according to the Xin'an Evening News.
A reporter from the Evening News visited the club, which is not signposted and "only serves officials and businessmen" according to a waiter. The reporter found braised peacock and wild goose on the menu, at 1,680 yuan and 358 yuan respectively.
In October, a CCTV report exposed eight restaurants and hotels in Jiangxi which were serving endangered rhesus monkeys to diners.
