As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Is Australia on the verge of the 'worst magpie season yet'?

It is according to one person who walked into their bedroom to find the Australian bird making itself at home on their bed.

Soon after the Reddit user 'duckla' posted the photo to the social media website, the post was bombarded with comments.

While a few people commented on how 'sweet' or 'beautiful' magpies were, the post was also on the receiving end of some colourful criticism of the flighted animal.

One Reddit user made it clear he was not a fan, writing 'duck, dive, run'.

'I know come swooping season, there will be one very grumpy, sleep deprived bird coming for me,' another user said.
