As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

2012/10/21 21:33:56
Taipei, Oct. 21 (CNA)A delegation from the Chongming Dongtan Birds Nature Reserve in Shanghai, China will visit southern Taiwan Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 to promote exchanges on bird conservation, the Taijiang National Park said Sunday.

It will be the first visit by officials from the world class conservation area in China since a cooperation agreement on bird conservation and restoration was inked between the two sides in May this year, according to the park in Tainan City, southern Taiwan.

The delegation will visit Sun Moon Lake in Taichung, Alishan in southern Taiwan, and the wetlands in Tainan to observe the black-faced spoonbills, which migrate to the island every year, park officials said.

A former bird hunter, who is over 70 years of age and is now considered a national treasure in China, will be part of the Chinese group, the officials said.
